We know that sports teaches leadership lessons: resilience, integrity, teamwork, creativity, and confidence. But because girls are not encouraged to play the same amount as boys do, girls become excluded from these lessons.

In fact, 450 million girls around the world are excluded from playing sports, which has a dramatic effect on the type of leaders we see in real life. As a result, only 3.4% of CEOs worldwide are female.

To draw attention to this, we created a kit that reveals the lessons withheld from girls when they’re excluded from playing.

The kit was launched during the 2023 Women’s World Cup, drawing attention that there is a bigger game we are losing out on when girls don’t play sport.

The Hidden Lessons went far and wide as it was endorsed by Danish footballer and doctor Nadia Nadim, and supported by renowned international footballers including Wang Shuang (China), Nikita Parris (England), Ary Borges (Brazil), Gemma Bonner (England), Savannah de Melo (USA), Uchenna Kanu (Nigeria), Carson Pickett (USA) and Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), among others.
